Moldovan speaker, IMF Resident Representative broach economic development, European reform agenda

Parliament Speaker Igor Corman today met
Resident Representative of the
International Monetary Fund in Moldova
Armine Khachatryan, the parliament’s
communication and public relations
department has reported.
The officials broached issues focused on the economic evolutions in Moldova, including the implementation of the programme with the IMF, as well as the country’s economic development prospects.
Corman highlighted the importance of implementing the European reforms agenda, including in the economic sector, in order to ensure the macro-economic stability and the sustainable economic growth in the country. He expressed the Moldovan authorities’ confidence to continue the constructive dialogue with the IMF, in order to modernise Moldova and improve the citizens’ living standards. Also, Corman touched upon the implemented economic policies, amendments and completions to the national legislation meant to create conditions for the country’s economic development. Situation at Banca de Economii was also discussed.
