NEW IMF PROGRAMMES FOR MOLDOVA TO AIM AT CONCRETE REFORM RESULTS
Chisinau-25.07.2000/(BASA-press) The new programmes of the
International Monetary Fund (IMF) for Moldova would be aimed at
concrete results of the reforms and at raising the population's
living level, said Richard Haas, the IMF's regional director,
during a meeting with Moldovan President Petru Lucinschi on
Tuesday.
The statement was made while estimating the results of negotiations
of the IMF Mission and Moldova's government with a view to sign the
new agreement-memorandum on to further fund Chisinau.
The IMF dignitary said that the policy promoted by the Moldovan
government was correct and "inspired confidency to a fruitful
cooperation" between the IMF and Moldova, reads a communique of the
presidency.
Richard Haas was in a two-day working visit to Moldova. His meeting
with Lucinschi was also attended by the IMF Resident
Representative to Moldova Hassan Al-Atrash.
