MOLDOVAN PRESIDENT SAYS: MOLDOVA FULFILS ALL
CONDITIONS FOR RESUMPTION OF IMF LENDING

Chisinau, July 31 (INFOTAG). President Voronin counts that the
IMF mission presently working in Chisinau will arrive at a
positive conclusion.

"On the whole, the IMF's conditions are fulfilled. We are
prepared to further meet all our commitments. And, naturally, we
are for exercising a tough control over the usage of credits
supplied to us", he told the news conference.

Mr Voronin emphasized Moldova's interest to receive the
much-spoken loan to fight poverty.

"This is a very advantageous crediting - at 0.5 percent annual
interest. Struggle with poverty is a key problem for us. That's
why I have established a coordination anti-poverty board, and
shall be seeking to get money for this struggle", the President
said.

"I stated in Strasbourg and can repeat it again: a poor person
cannot be free, and there cannot be a democracy in an
impoverished country", he said.
