THE IMF EXPERTS AND THOSE OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA TREAT
DIFFERENTLY THE MOLDOVAN-RUSSIAN AGREEMENT REGARDING
THE DELIVERY OF NATURAL GAS

According to the press Service of the Government Premier Vasile Tarlev had,
on Wednesday, a meeting with the head of the International Monetary Fund Mission,
Richard Haas, who is on a documentation visit to the Republic of Moldova,
AP FLUX informs.

According to the Government's press Service, in the frames of the
discussions, Vasile Tarlev and Richard Haas discussed the stage of the
collaboration between the Republic of Moldova and the IMF. Richard Haas
mentioned that the Republic of Moldova has complied with all the commitments
it has taken the current year in regard to the IMF, by signing the
Memorandum from the year 2000.

A separate subject of the discussion was the Agreement between the
Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Russian
Federation regarding the supply with natural gas, signed in November of the
current year in Moscow, being noted that the IMF experts and those of the
Republic of Moldova treat differently the articles of this document.
As a result of the discussions, the premier and the IMF experts have
identified some ways to settle the difference that appeared in the way the
mentioned above document is being treated, as well as other problems related
to the bilateral collaboration. The premier ensured the IFM mission that
the Republic of Moldova will make everything possible to solve all the
disputes that exist in the relations with the IMF and that it will be
receptive, for the future, to all the proposals of this international
financial organization.

"The Government of the Republic of Moldova will continue to comply, in the
future, with the commitments it has made, and remains open for a mutually
advantageous collaboration with the International Monetary Fund, counting on
the support of this organization in the promotion of democratic reforms
oriented towards the development of national economy, which will directly
lead to the increase of the life level of the population", Vasile Tarlev
also declared, cited by AP FLUX.
