Press release - 11.07.2013
The officials approached Moldova’s latest internal political and economic developments. The talks were focused on initiating a dialogue related to the negotiation of a new financing programme for Moldova by the IMF.
Corman and Snel exchanged opinions about Moldova’s cooperation prospects with the IMF and the implementation of the European reform agenda. In the context, Corman said that the new cooperation programme between Moldova and the IMF should be set taking into account the experience acquired in the earlier implemented programmes and should be well structured based on national priorities. Its implementation would contribute to a sustainable economic growth.
Snel informed about the achievement of the basic goals of Moldova’s last financing programme by the IMF. He also said that an IMF mission would visit Moldova this autumn in order to start a negotiation dialogue on a new IMF financing programme for Moldova.
