RESULTS OF NEGOTIATIONS WITH IMF MISSION TO BE FAVORABLE
FOR MOLDOVA, MOLDOVAN PRESIDENT SAYS
Chisinau, July 31 /Moldpres/ - Moldovan President Vladimir
Voronin shows optimism about the final decision of the IMF
mission, which is to be taken next week after the conclusion of
its negotiations with Moldova's leadership.
The head of state told a Tuesday press conference that the
IMF mission is satisfied with the results of the fulfilment of
the Memorandum for the years 2000-2003 signed by Moldova and the
IMF at the end of last year. The Memorandum is to be amended in
the course of time, the President said. He also said that Richard
Haas agreed on the matter.
The President supports that Moldova carried out the assumed
commitments. He labelled as technical the divergencies existing
with this international body. The Programme "Pamant"/Land/ is a
problem in this context. "We support all the forms of
organization in agriculture, the results are what we are
interested in. However, the problem of this programme consists in
the sum of USD 65 mln promised as technical assistance, and which
has not reached Moldova yet", the President said.
Vladimir Voronin expressed conviction that at the end of the
mission, the IMF's final decision will be positive and favorable
for Moldova.
