MOLDOVAN GOVERNMENT IS DETERMINED TO IMPLEMENT CLAUSES OF MEMORANDUM SIGNED WITH IMF
Chisinau, Aug 1 /Moldpres/ - The present Government is ready
to further develop the relations with the international financial
organizations, and to implement the clauses of the Memorandum
signed with the International Monetary Fund, Deputy Premier
Valerian Cristea said at a Tuesday meeting with IMF Regional
Director Richard Haas, who is in Chisinau at the head of a mission.
The Deputy Premier also said that the Executive is
determined to establish control over the implementation of the
provisions of the Memorandum signed with the IMF and over the way
the money lent by the Fund is used.
On the request of the IMF official, Deputy Premier Valerian
Cristea and Minister of Labour and Social Protection Valerian
Revenco, who attended the meeting, presented an ample piece of
information about the march of fulfillment of the National
Program of poverty reduction, observance of the social
legislation, as well as about the drafts on the amendment of
these legislative acts.
Valerian Cristea mentioned that the Cabinet currently
undertakes additional measures for the application of the Law on
the obligatory medical insurance. He said that the law was adopted
in 1998, but remained dead letter because of the lack of the
necessary conditions.
The quoted source also said the Government works on a draft
Law on the subsistence allowance, which passage has been delayed
for many years.
In his turn, Richard Haas appreciated the wish of the new
Moldovan leadership to implement the clauses of the Memorandum
signed with the IMF. At the same time, he underlined that the
document is to be amended by common consent with the Chisinau
Executive, consistent with the Cabinet's intentions to make
several rectifications in it.
Attending the meeting were Minister of Education Ilie Vancea
and first Deputy Minister of Health Gheorghe Turcanu.
